Taking a copy of this letter with you should convince reluctant gate agents, security screeners, etc. to allow you to board with your musical instrument. Don't expect to lug your double bass or tuba on-board, but for most smaller instruments this should do the trick. Don't forget to remove anything sharp from your case and put in in your checked baggage. Note: If the link above doesn't work, it's because TSA has moved it yet again.
